Good Lovin’ Ain’t Easy…

Spanning generations, Good Lovin' Ain't Easy first focuses on Myrna and JD Calhoun, a young couple who move to California in search of financial stability. Unable to afford even basic expenses, they are forced to send their daughter, Veda Marie Calhoun to be raised by Myrna's tough-loving mother. To make matters worse, Myrna's best efforts are undermined by her sweet-talking husband, JD, whose gambling addiction takes a heavy toll on their relationship.

Amidst the struggles of her parents, we see Veda Marie Calhoun come into her own as a young woman making her way in the world. Talented, intelligent and strong-willed, Veda finds herself whisked away by the charms of handsome Charles Winston Caziere, whose dedicated work ethic and gentle manner make him the perfect suitor—that is, until his jealous, psychotic ex-girlfriend, Monica Webber, comes into town.

Sykes brilliantly crafts her characters in spine-tingling plots that skillfully challenge the question: Can a man be faithful to one woman? She raises the stakes as she negotiates the characters in and out of life-changing experiences. I’ve reviewed many books over the years, but this one I couldn’t put down. Good Lovin’ Ain’t Easy was a refreshing read... I highly recommend it. – Cheryl Beckmann, Book Watch

In Good Lovin’ Ain’t Easy, Sykes’ incorporates her uncanny insights into relationships and the human psyche to deftly weave a mesmerizing tale about sincere, but flawed, characters we can relate to. The characters, and their actions, ring true, allowing her reader to experience vicariously the joys, fears, heartbreaks and triumphs of individuals they come to know intimately. –Gail Byrd

I love this book!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this novel by Barbara Wright-Sykes. After I read [Good Lovin' Ain't Easy] though, I was amazed! This book is so much fun...her characters are delicious to read, there's a lot of snappy dialogue and there were moments where I was at the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next...especially when you read some of the racy lovemaking scenes....very hot. Overall, it was an excellent read and I can't wait for the sequel! --Laura- Seattle, WA
